3M™ Standard Methods Agar / Plate Count Agar BP0295005

Description: Medium for obtaining microbial counts on food, dairy and water. 

Composition: (typical formula g/L) 
Agar
Pancreatic Digest of Casein
Yeast Extract
Dextrose
Meat Peptone
Final pH 7.0 ± 0.2 at 25°C Adjust pH as required to meet performance criteria. 

Preparation of Medium: 
Suspend 23.5 g of the powder in 1.0 L of purified water
Mix thoroughly. 
Heat with frequent agitation 
Boil 1 minute to completely dissolve the powder. 
Autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes.
