Description: A selective medium for the detection and isolation of Enterobacteriaceae from foods. 

Composition: (typical formula g/L) 
Agar
Glucose
Pancreatic Digest of Gelatin 
Sodium Chloride
Yeast Extract
Bile Salt
Neutral Red
Crystal Violet
Final pH 7.4 ± 0.2 at 25°C Adjust pH as required to meet performance criteria

Preparation of Medium: 
Suspend 40 g of the powder in 1.0 L of purified water. 
Mix thoroughly
Heat with frequent agitation. 
Boil 1 minute to dissolve completely. 
Cool to 45-50°C. 
Use immediately.
